With the addition of heaters, Hurricanes Roadhouse converted its patio from a three-month space to a three-season room, increasing the restaurants seating capacity, while accelerating the return on investment.

“The space is great now that [our] canopy covers [the entire patio] at a touch of a button. Its increased my bottom line now that I can have the patio opened earlier and later in the season. I also like that it also helps with sound, keeping your neighbours happy.”

Quick to recognize the value of the newly transformed space, Ross is looking to incorporate the new patio design into another establishment.

“I currently purchased another pub and am looking forward to installing a similar canopy as I have at Hurricanes, at A Dark Horse Pub on Bloor West, rated best patio on Bloor West! Stayed tuned for it to be even better!”

Hurricanes Roadhouse is a great example of how a minor renovation can result in a high return. Not only has the canopy given the restaurant a fresh look, it has expanded the patio season by a couple extra months in the spring and fall, boosting the restaurant’s bottom line.
